I was all excited about buying the new Bat For Lashes album yesterday, so last night I went to Newbury Comics, one of only three places to buy music in Providence now–one’s a stupid fye and the other one’s mainly a metal store–and they were sold out, and said their warehouse was also out. I’ve never heard of that happening before on the first day something was out; I don’t know whether it means the album’s selling like hotcakes, whether the store just under-ordered, or whether it’s a sign that they’re just giving up on CDs now.
I did get It’s Blitz, though, and I’m just listening to it for the first time now; it’s a lot less disco-y than I was led to believe, but it’s predictably awesome and will probably be in steady rotation in my house for the next few years in the same way that Fever To Tell and the Is Is EP are.
