Mixtapes for Hookers

Tokyo Storm Warning

I’m in SUCH a better mood today.  Went out for a walk and did some errands.  Not leaving the house is very bad, especially when you’re inside reading depressing news online all day and all night.

Anyway, here’s Mini Viva’s Left My Heart In Tokyo.  Mini Viva are the latest act to come out of the Xenomania stable and what a lovely debut single this is.

What an excellent year for female duos this is, between this and Nina Sky’s On Some Bullshit, and the Vistoso Bosses and the reunited Lili & Susie.  My awareness of this clip comes courtesy of MiTunes, whose existence I didn’t know about until I um, started Googling “mixtapes for hookers” a few minutes ago and saw that they link here (thanks!)

The News: Bonus Tuesday Night Insomnia Mixed With Paranoia Edition

[I haven't left the house in two days, so I've had a lot of time to dwell.  Sorry for the "885 words written at 2AM"-ness of this.]

With all the brouhaha about prostitution here, it’s interesting to note that comments about prostitution-related news stories in other places are more or less the same as ours, with about a 50/50 split between people advocating for legalization and people being like ‘Ewwww, cooties.’  Without any laws changing in Seattle, though, there’s a lot less of the “but my daughter!” moral hand-wringing.

Comments on the ProJo story about the prostitution letter signed by fifty academics are, as I mentioned, ridiculous, though one commenter’s name does link to this video, which I thought worth mentioning.

In more paranoia-inducing news, Dreamy Jeremy Scahill reports that Blackwater founder Erik Prince may have ordered the murder of individuals working with government investigators.  [via The Nation]
