It’s National Punctuation Day. Because nothing exists until it has its own day. To celebrate, here’s a picture of a semi-colon, by far my favorite punctuation mark both visually and functionally. Surprisingly, only one professor in college ever told me that I overused them; that’s pretty amazing, because I usually have two or three on every page and most people are afraid of them. Or maybe just intimidated by their beauty.
This totally made my morning. The song, if you don’t know it, is France Gall‘s 1964 hit Laissez Tomber Les Filles, though thanks to Quentin Tarantino you may be more familiar with April March’s English-language cover.
