Those of you in Rhode Island should head down to Thayer Street in Providence today for the non-Grand Opening of the Center for Sexual pleasure and Health. While the city of Pawtucket decides whether or not it’s ready to have a non-profit sex resource center, the party that was planned to coincide with the opening will be taking place at The Spot on Thayer. (The Spot, incidentally, is upstairs from my favorite secret lunch place in the whole city. Their tomato soup is amazing, and they’ve got some of the town’s best french fries. So I may be sneaking out at some point, is all I’m saying…)
Carol Queen is speaking at 3:30, and afterwards there’s a panel discussion with Vivienne Kramer, Bill Taverner, Rebecca Chalker, Elizabeth Wood, Barbara Carrallas, and Gina Ogden. At 5 there’s a screening of Happy Endings?, Tara Hurley’s documentary about RI spa workers , and after that lots of sex toys will be given away. Yay.
