I’m not really a fan of leak blogs, because I prefer waiting until albums are actually released to start listening to them, and generally if I’m that excited to hear something I’m equally tickled to own it as a physical product, because I am old-fashioned and nerdy and possessive. The few album-uploading blogs I do put into my Google Reader are those that mainly focus on long-deleted singles (ie. Burning The Ground, Castles In Space) or those which mainly feature artists I’ve never heard of before, like Strangeways Here We Come. Sadly, that last one said goodbye to the world yesterday, but not before leaving us with the new albums by Class Actress, Teitur, Savoy Grand and the excitingly-named Everybody Was In The French Resistance, none of whom I probably would have ever heard of were it not for that blog. (Well, Everybody Was In The French Resistance has the singer from Art Brut, so maybe I would have heard of them eventually. Although the video for the single G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N. came out six or seven weeks ago and I only just learned about them, so maybe not?)
Sadly, all the download links have been taken down.
