We’re rapidly closing in on the end of the year, so I thought I’d present you with 2011′s twelve most popular posts on Naked Pictures Of Your Dad. (I’m going by unique hits to each photo’s page, not the number of Tumblr likes and reblogs. Though I should mention that, despite several lengthy posting breaks this year, my number of Tumblr followers more than doubled.) Actually, each of the top ten posts got about a thousand more hits than the corresponding posts did last year.

Naked Pictures Of Your Dad may just seem like a bunch of stolen images randomly posted in no order, but it’s not! Well, sort of it is but also sort of it’s not. There’s a method.
I have exactly 100 blogs in my pornydude RSS feed, and I sort through each post daily and then upload my 10 favorites. I’ve got the blogs divided into categories (art/celebrity/daddies/fetish/g rated/hetero/models/vintage/x rated) and I try to post at least once from each category. Even though nobody seems to like the fashion-y posts very much and hardly anybody ever clicks the like heart on the straight people posts, I don’t really care. I’m posting it if I think it’s good enough to be there.
Another of my many rules is that I won’t post multiple images that were posted on the same blog on the same day. Part of that is out of respect for the other blogger’s style, and part of it is to keep myself in check. But then there are blogs like Brief.

I planned to announce a NPOYD party last week, but my stupid illness/laryngitis–plus planning three other events that will be taking place within a pretty short time-span–have delayed that a little bit… Soon, though, I swear!

Snow Day!
And what better way to spend my houseboundness than by nerding out over Google Analytics? Now, numbers don’t really mean that much to me, in the sense that none of my websites are commercial, and chances are I’d be posting the same thing whether seven people were viewing it or seventy thousand people. But also I do appreciate a good graph!
In 2010, Naked Pictures Of Your Dad had over a million unique pageviews from over 120,000 unique visitors (not including the 2,000 people or so who read it regularly in their Tumblr dashboard). It is way more popular than this blog, because photos of dicks win every single time. Visitors came from 171 countries, with over 1,000 visits logged from 19 nations. The site’s numbers have been growing steadily over the course of the year and, on December 21st, I hit a new daily record for just about everything.
After the jump, the ten individual posts that got the most Naked Pictures Of Your Dad traffic in 2010. (Of course, since this is Google, I’m only counting visits to each actual page and not, say, the number of likes and reblogs noted by Tumblr. You never know, though: if today gets reeeeeeeeeeally boring I might give that a whirl, too.)
I’m putting Naked Pictures Of Your Dad on hiatus for a while so I can spend more time figuring out some work/money/life things. Full explanation here.
Hopefully this will also give me some time to write more, photograph more, and see things that aren’t on a computer screen more. I’ve also started about twenty posts here that I haven’t finished; maybe I’ll work on those now.
I feel like this is the post of a depressed person, although I’m actually in a pretty good mood these days (sixty-ish degree weather does that, even though I’ve totally been a sneezemonster for two weeks.) I just need to get my ish together and make enough money that I can be a functional human being again.

So, a celebration is in order. Today my other blog, Naked Pictures Of Your Dad, turns the big oh-one. To celebrate, I decided to take the day off and ask other people to do guest posts. Seventeen people from around the internet, around Providence, and in a couple of cases both took me up on the offer, and starting at 8am eastern time you’ll be able to see what they came up with.
Relatedly, the internet is surprisingly devoid of photos of a) shirtless boys covered in cake frosting, b) male strippers jumping out of cakes, and c) naked guys in party hats. Even the porn blog Gay Porn & Cake Party was surprisingly devoid of these things. Not that the spooky marzipan cock cake above isn’t special, but I may soon need to set up a photo shoot to rectify this error…

Big week for me over on the ol’ Tumblr. Yesterday my Tumblarity went into four digits for the first time ever, and today I got my 10,000th Like.
For those of you unacquainted with the Tumblr concept, if you have an account you can ‘like’ other people’s posts by clicking a little heart that’s in the corner of the screen. With 10,002 likes and 1936 posts, that means each post I’ve written was liked by 5.16632231 people. Tumblarity I’m less sure about, but it’s a number that goes up the more popular you are. Folks sure do like looking at pictures of naked dudes!
